This summer, because of strong attack of Typhoon "In-Fa" coincided with the astronomical tide and the heavy rainfall at the same time, many places in Ningbo and Zhoushan have been designated as red alert areas for geological hazards and meteorological risks. All subsidiaries and departments of Ningshing Holdings acted quickly and organized all kinds of defense of flood control and typhoon resistance during typhoon season.
On July 21st，Ningshing Holdings issued an Emergency Notice calling for defense of strong typhoon "In-Fa" and requiring all subsidiaries and departments to pay full attention and ensure all prevention measures in place. From July 21st to 24th, all subsidiaries and departments have successively held flood and typhoon prevention meetings, carried out safety inspections of flood control and typhoon resistance, and reinforcement of outdoor facilities.
Since July 24th, there has been rainstorm to heavy rainstorm in Ningbo, and the wind has upgraded. On the day of typhoon landing, Chairman Wu Yigang, Vice Chairman Gao Ping, and President Huang Yongzeng of Ningshing Holdings gathered in the headquarters to pay special attention to the typhoon moving path and get ready to deploy work in time. All subsidiaries of Ningshing Holdings, especially the production bases, were closely guarded, and timely resisted at all levels to minimize the possible losses caused by the typhoon.
Zhoushan Ningshing Ship Building & Repairing
Under the leadership and command of Vice President Wang Wentong, more than 190 employees were transferred, more than 60 large equipment such as ships, plank houses and gantry cranes were reinforced. On the evening of July 24th, there was heavy wind and rain, the sea waves were turbulent, and the highest flood was 50cm higher than the shipyard ground. The company's emergency management team immediately ordered to cut off all power supply in the plant area, arranged all rescue personnel to withdraw to the safe area, and transferred all accommodation personnel in the former plant area after the tide receded to ensure personal safety. With everyone's concerted efforts, the company finally resisted the attack of wave.
Ningshing Ubay Logistics
With the "In-Fa" approaching, the warehouses of Ningshing Ubay Logistics were flooded to varying degrees, and the dangerous situations continued. General Manager Shi Wei led the employees to fight in the front line. Relevant managers and employees quickly made concerted efforts to defend the warehouse and reduce losses. During this period, MS. Xia Qun, deputy director of the administrative committee of the free trade zone, Mr. Wu Yigang, chairman of the Ningshing Holdings, and others who were concerned about Ubay Logistics, visited the warehouse site, inspected and guided the work of flood control and typhoon resistance, and expressed condolences to the front-line personnel.
Ningbo Ningshing Precision Machinery Group
On July 24th, Ningshing Precision Machinery Group compacted two layers of sandbags at the vent of the production workshop to prevent water from entering, uniformly parked the cars in the production plant to the workshop to ensure safety, focused on implementing the protective measures for shutdown and power failure in the production workshop, and implemented the requirements of 24-hour monitoring and duty report. During this period, President Huang Yongzeng went to the site to inspect and guide the work of flood control and typhoon resistance.
Ningbo Sunflower Shading Equipment Co.,Ltd.
On July 25th, the steel structure canopy on the right side of the company had local rain leakage. The personnel on duty immediately arranged forklift workers to transfer the finished products indoors and protected some materials that could not be transferred with rain cloth. After 3 hours, cartons and other moisture-prone materials were finally in place to protect and ensure that the losses were minimized.
Ningbo Ningshing Yoyou Feed Co.Ltd
In order to do a good job in corn harvest and safe entry into the cellar, Ningshing Yoyou Feed worked overtime to complete the production of more than 700 tons of corn before the arrival of the typhoon and rushed to collect and store it in the warehouse. At the same time, they organized forces to cover and protect more than 50 stacks of straw with waterproof membrane and also combined with the process, they did a good job in preventing rainwater backflow in the plant and silage cellar step by step to ensure that the production was resistant to typhoon under the attack of wind and rain.
In addition, Ningbo Ningshing Tank Terminal comprehensively completed various preventive measures and strengthened patrol inspection according to the special emergency plan for flood control and typhoon resistance. Also, the personnel on duty for 24 hours who stick to the Tianning Building patrolled once every 2 hours to timely investigate the hidden dangers and cleaned up the water from the windowsill of certain offices in the building.
“In-fa” gradually receded and companies’ production has become normal. The busy figures showed Ningshing staffs' ability to respond quickly to emergencies, cooperate and the spirit of unity, self-help and love.
